Acceptable Projects
M.O.H.P.G. undertook the grant program to assist property owners in maintaining the architectural integrity and preserving the heritage of our city's older structures. Therefore, the grant program aims to fund projects which repair, restore or enhance the original features of the buildings. These projects might include (but are not limited to): repairing/replacing windows, doors, trim, porches, fireplaces, light fixtures, etc.. Structural work is acceptable. Not appropriate would be installing modern appliances (such as dishwashers, refrigerators, etc.), or architecturally insensitive additions, modernizations, facades or coverings. Landscaping projects are also unacceptable. All projects must have proper building permits where required. The M.O.H.P.G. Board of Directors reserves the right to rule on the acceptability of any restoration project submitted for a grant.

Winning Applicants
The winning applicants will be selected by a random drawing from among all eligible applications at the December meeting. All applicants will be notified by mail by January 15th 2005 whether or not they will receive one of the grants. Grant winners will then have until October 1st of next year to complete their projects and submit verifiable repair/material receipts and invoices and a photograph of the finished project(s). The grant committee will require an on-site inspection to verify completion. Once these steps have been completed the M.O.H.P.G. treasurer will issue a check to each grant winner for half the cost of their project up to $750.
