An overnight rain and morning drizzle gave way to blue skies and white, puffy clouds as MOHPG's 40th Annual Historic Homes Tour turned out to be everything one could hope for. The tour homes were all located on the 300 block of Wildrose Avenue, site of Monrovia's first historic district (2009). Attendees had to park only once to view the homes. Vendors were set up with displays of pottery, jewelry, woodcraft, etc. while a band played music in the background. Three vintage travel trailers were also on display as were the usual contingent of vintage cars. Food was available for purchase for those wanting to hang around for a while, Jim Constantian played vintage tunes on his antique phonograph, and local baker Becky Rivanis supplied free cookies and drink (only one cookie, though!), all of which added to the tour goers experience. Popcorn could be had at Fred's Monrovia, a car museum that was also on tour. The Historical Museum and the Anderson House Museum rounded out the venues open for viewing. Photography by Larry Marotta
